Scouting 360
Welcome All!
From George Robinson, General Chairman
2007 Greater Cleveland Council Encampment
May 4th,5th,& 6th, 2007
Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds, Berea, Ohio
. Our Council has made this opportunity available in the past, and I am proud to be asked to chair this wonderful activity and hope the success of this event will allow the council to bring it back in 2010. Because of the hard work of dozens of committed Scout leaders, we will be able to bring the magic of Scouting in a many faceted experience, for youth and adults in 2007. For many of our youth and adults this Encampment will be a “once in a lifetime” experience. We are hoping that you will make this unique experience available to your youth and include your unit in as many aspects of the program as possible. Please register early as we are expecting close to 3,000 participants this year.
In order to make this a memorable and positive experience for all, we need your help in many ways. I’m sure you realize that there is no way for us to solicit enough adult members on a committee to assist us in assuring the safety of over three thousand people during this exciting weekend. We are, therefore, asking that each unit provide us with at least two to four adults, more if possible, to assist us for a couple of hours on Saturday with the Cub Scout and Boy Scout activities. Your support on this is vital not only to the success of this event, but also to the future success of our Scouting activities. No matter how exciting and challenging a planned activity may be, it cannot succeed if it is not safe for our youth. If you have not already submitted names of individuals willing to help, please call Shirley at the Boy Scout Council office at (216) 861-6060 today and give her the names of volunteers from your unit.
premier program event which is so big, so exciting and so involved it is held only occasionally and it takes the entire Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds to hold it! This is a chance for you to join Scouts from other areas of the county and participate in all the fun that youth ages 7 and up like to do in the great outdoors. Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and Venturing Scouts will take part in all kinds of amazing activities like rock climbing, challenging games, archery, crafts, competitions and much more. We will have more than 100 programs and areas, an evening Grandstand Show and a spectacular fireworks display! Boys will be able to explore the NASA display, see the K-9 demonstration, punt, pass, kick and pitch, rappel, visit the military displays, both modern and historic. Cub Scouts should bring their Pinewood Derby cars and race their friends. The Council Pinewood Derby will be held at the encampment and will be sure to draw a crowd. Boy Scouts will fish, visit the merit badge midway to find out more about merit badges and participate in archery. Everyone will enjoy the bands entertaining Saturday during the Battle of the Bands with the winning band performing at the Grandstand Show in the evening.

will be able to hike to the fairgrounds, experience the Blue Angles Flight Simulator, climb the wall, and camp and hang out in an area all their own.
Literally there will be a sea of tents with Scouts camping at the fairgrounds all weekend long. Bring your family or your entire unit to this fantastic Scouting event!
