Scouting 360 Frequently Asked Questions
What is the date and where is it being held?
Scouting 360 will be held May 4-6, 2007 at the Cuyahoga County Fairgrounds, Berea. Use the Bagley Rd exit from I-71.
Friday evening is unit camping check-in by district.
Saturday events program is 9 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Gates open at 8:30 a.m.
Saturday closing campfire program begins at 8:45 p.m. Fireworks at approximately 10:20 p.m.
Sunday, religious services and pack for home.
What are the fees?
Boy Scouts, Venturers and Webelos members camping for the weekend with their unit pay $15.
To reserve a site for a unit to camp, $20.
Cub Scouts and other Scouting members attending Saturday events pay $10.
All registered leaders pay $10.
Parents, siblings, friends, attending Saturday only, pay $5.
Under 5 free.
Family Camping, open to any family with at least one registered member(youth or adult), $3 for one night, $5 for the weekend for the site plus applicable fees listed above per person.
Saturday evening closing show only fee, for those coming into the fairgrounds after 5 p.m. for those attending only the closing show is $3.
American Hot Rod Racer sponsored Greater Cleveland Council Pinewood Derby and Second Chance Race?
All Cub Scouts should bring their pinewood derby car and race on Saturday morning for the opportunity to race in the afternoons American Hot Rod Racer sponsored Greater Cleveland Council Pinewood Derby.
Registration for the Second Chance Race is 9-9:30 a.m. with racing until 11:30 a.m.
Council Pinewood Derby registration is Saturday morning before 11:30 a.m. with racing beginning at 1:30 p.m.
What about the hike to the fairgrounds?
All Boy Scouts are requested to hike into the fairgrounds with personal gear from one of the designated parking/drop off spots on Friday evening. Troop adults may park their vehicles in the designated areas and walk with youth members to the fairgrounds but will need to walk back or carpool to the lots to pick up their vehicles and park overnight in the lots at the fairgrounds.
Hikers will enter the fairgrounds off Eastland Road via University St. There will be signs and people to help guide you.
How will I know where to camp?
Camping areas will be set up by district, Venturing and Family Camping. Each will have a designated area. Within the area will be areas set aside for each unit registered. As Scouts enter they will be directed to their district area. District volunteers will then direct Scouts to their troops camping area. Vehicles will not be allowed into the camping area.
Where do I go with the troop trailer?
Unit trailers should enter the fairgrounds from Bagley Rd. You will be directed to an area to park until hiking troop members arrive to assist in unloading gear. Once troop members arrive you may move your trailer to the road near the camping area, quickly unload and then take the trailer to the designated trailer parking lot.
Who can camp in the Family Camp area?
All Scout families are invited to camp and enjoy Scouting 360. Bring a trailer, tent or sleep in your van. Bring your own food or plan to purchase food from vendors at the fairgrounds or from nearby restaurants. Pay the per person fee plus $3 for one night or $5 for the weekend site to camp in the Family Camping area.
Event Tickets?
Troops, crews, packs, and Cub Scout individuals will receive tickets for the few events requiring tickets when they check in. For units and families camping this will be Friday night, for those arriving on Saturday they will be available at the gate. For walk-ins on Saturday availability will be while they last.
Saturday Check In?
For those arriving at Scouting 360 on Saturday there will be two entrances, one off Bagley Rd and the other off Eastland Rd. Go to the ticket booth at the gate to check-in and receive your wristband if you are pre-paid. If you have not pre-paid you will be asked to complete a registration form, pay fees and then you will receive your wristband.
Gates will open at 8:30 a.m. Scouts and Scouters will receive a patch.
Is the closing campfire show restricted to those camping at the fairgrounds?
No, anyone may attend the closing show. If arriving at the fairgrounds after 5 p.m. on Saturday for the closing show entry will be $3 per person. Seating will not be available for the show. Bring a ground cloth or lawn chair.
Can I be a part of the show?
Individuals, dens, packs, families, patrols and troops that would like to be a part of the closing show on Friday evening may try out on Saturday morning. Bring props and try out your skit, song, instrumental or other entertainment and be part of the show.
Will there be coffee available?
Coffee will be available at the encampment, please plan to make a donation toward coffee. Other food and snacks will be available for purchase from three vendor points.
If I leave the fairgrounds will I need to pay to get back in?
Every person paying an entry fee will receive a wristband to wear. The wristband will allow you to re-enter without paying.
Health Forms?
Every person entering Scouting 360 should have a completed Class 1 Health Form. Troop, crew and family forms will be checked Friday evening during check-in at the subcamps. Cub Scouts entering as part of a group on Saturday without a parent will need to have a signed health form held by the adult responsible for the Cub Scout. Cub Scout families attending should also complete the forms to have the necessary information at hand in case of an emergency.
